Tuesday, September 8th officially kicked off the 2009 football season, with the 7th grade traveling to Saginaw High School to face the Prairie Vista Coyotes in a game-simulated scrimmage. “Both the 7th grade A & B teams competed very well and look to a promising and successful season” stated Chris Woodall, IMMS Football Coach.
The 8th grade A & B teams faced Prairie Vista at W. O. Barnes Memorial Stadium. The B team won 12 - 0 highlighted by the quarterback play of Ramon C. and the running back play of Reggie J. The defense had a stout night by shutting out the Coyotes.
The A team won 28-0 on scoring runs by Tyreece M., Adrian R., as well as a defensive touchdown scored by Christian C. The defense was intense by only allowing 50 yards of Coyotes offense and forcing two turnovers.
